Food is my passion...
One of my favorite spots in New York City is a
green market in Union Square.
Looking at all those colorful, beautiful, fresh and
delicious foods just makes me smile and happy,
and stimulates a creative side of me.
I love eating out , too.
And I’m so lucky to live in one of the most
diverse cities in the world, with millions of
wonderful restaurants.
Cooking is my therapy.
When I’m in the kitchen, with all the fresh, local,
organic foods to make delicious Macrobiotic
dishes, all my stress seems to be gone.
Through foods, we can see so many things.
Family, community, culture, food crisis, agri-ugly-
business, politics, slow food movement, farm
bill, health issues, poverty, environment, war
and peace …etc .
Whole environment, society and human-beings
are all connected.
And all those things, I believe, start from the
table.
We are what we eat.
Food builds blood, cells and body.
Even our mind, since brain and nerves are all
cells!
Too much animal protein(yang) makes people
more aggressive, while too much yin food
makes us defensive.
By eating more balanced, "neutral" food, in
harmony with the natural, universal order, our
body and soul will be nurtured, healthy and
happy.
And eventually the whole society will be
harmonious and peaceful.
Macrobiotics is a “peace food movement” to
heal the world.
Food is my passion.
