Food factor
There are some foods that make your body more susceptible to getting
infected with lyme disease.
Over consumption of certain foods makes our blood acidic, which
attracts lyme infection.
Poultry (chicken, eggs) and chocolate are the main causes.
And other “acid forming” foods, such as
Sugar, honey, maple syrup, dairy, baked flour products, citrus and
tropical fruits, oil attract the ticks and should be avoided and minimized
to prevent ,(or if already infected) further spread or worsen the infection.
If infected…
Diet and food
Avoid or minimize all the foods mentioned above, as well as raw salad,
oil for a while. And have whole grain based diet with well cooked
vegetables to strengthen your body system.(for prevention, too)
Here are some foods that bring the body fluid back into balance.
Miso
umeboshi plum
* both available at health food stores.
They have strong antiseptic power and strengthen the blood.
Eat miso soup with sea vegetables as well as umeboshi plum daily.
Home remedy
For pain and swelling in the joints, use a ginger compress or hot towel
compress.
To strengthen the blood and circulation, drink ume-sho kuzu.
*ginger compress
boil water and add grated ginger, then simmer. Turn off the heat.
Put remained ginger in a cheese cloth and put it in the hot water, let it
steep.
Dip the towel in the ginger water and squeeze.
Apply it to the desired areas of the body.
*ume-sho kuzu
dissolve 1 ts of kuzu root into 2 ,3 tbs of water.
Add 1 cup water and boil with low flame, with constantly stirring.
Add pasted umeboshi plum, simmer, and add a few drops of soy sauce,
simmer.
Drink while hot.
Others (good for other infection in general, too)
1 Miso Plaster
To help neutralize the infection or gradually draw out excess mucus and
fat from the body.
*miso plaster
enzyme in miso neutralize bacteria and help to prevent infection, also
helps relieve itchy skin disease or swelling.
Place raw miso gently on the affected area, about ½ to ¼ inch thick,
then wrap with a single layer of cheese cloth.
2 Body scrub
scrubbing body is helpful to promote better circulation of blood, lymph,
and other body fluids, as well as to activate physical and mental energy.
3 Visualization Practice
Meditate everyday, and visualize the blood, lymph and other factors
becoming stronger and gently, peacefully, and naturally eliminating
bacteria/ viruses or toxins from your body through the lungs(exhalation),
skin, urine and bowel movement.
4 Clean environment
Maintain your place clean environment, and use natural based, non-
toxic skin care or household cleaner.
5 Positive thinking
Walk outdoors everyday(if possible), breath deeply, smile/laugh and
sing happy songs out loud.
