Sinus Problems
Root Causes
Diet and sinus problems
The symptoms of sinusitis includes, nasal congestion, head ache,
and pressure around the eyes and the bridge of the nose…
In many cases, sinus problems are caused by poor dietary habits.
Eating food that is hard to digest creates toxins, and mucus and fat
accumulate in and around organs, and the body system.
And those toxins move beyond the digestive tract via circulatory
system, and settle in various body tissues.
And it may cause colds or allergy symptoms including sinus
congestion.
Emotion and sinus problems
Emotional holding, such as grief or fear, can cause sinus problems,
too.
This holding can also cause muscular tension in the chest.
Others
Lack of exercise, which clogs circulation, may also be the reason for
the problems.
Here are some tips
Cleansing the body
It’s better to eliminate the original causes.
Avoid dairy products(milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, cream), which is
very hard to digest and the main cause for mucus.
Also cut down on animal proteins, sugar, baked foods, refined /
processed food, oil, nuts, – which causes mucus, too.
If it’s hard to avoid completely—I can’t do that, either!-- just reduce
the amount or stop just for a while then see how you feel.
Instead, eat low on the food chain, such as whole grains, fresh and
colorful, seasonal vegetables, sea vegetables.
Chewing well
my Mom always tells me to chew at least 30 to 50 times
each mouthful !!
Don't eat with too much liquid, especially cold drink ,soda or
carbonated drink upsets your digestion and makes digestion harder.
Improving circulation
moderate daily exercise, such as walking, jogging, swimming, or
yoga would be nice, too.
Body scrub, self-massage are also good.
To alleviate sinus congestions...
Herbal Tea
Elder flower tea or peppermint tea may reduce the symptom.
Breathing exercise
Sit comfortably, close your right nostril with your right thumb, and
exhale fully and slowly through the left nostril. Repeat a few times,
and change the nostril for breathing
Aroma oil therapy
Put 2 drops of pepper mint oil, 2 drops of eucalyptus and 2 drops of
lavender oil on a tissue and inhale gently.
Ear –pulling
This is one of the cranio-sacral therapy techniques that I use in the
massage. Lie down on your back, and gently pull your ears with your
hands to the opposite direction—do not pull forcefully, very subtle
touch is enough,--so you’d feel the sinus opens up.
Nasal cleansing
Wash your nasal passage with warm, salted water several times a
day this season.
