Living in harmony with the moon

It is a known fact that the moon affects the ebb and flow of the
tide of the ocean.
And when you take a close look, animals are living in harmony
with the moon.
When the moon is full, sea turtles come to the shore and lay
eggs, while corals release millions of eggs into the water.
Have you ever heard that crabs are dancing for mating on the
beach on the full moon night?
We human beings used to live in accordance with moon calendar,
too.
And 60 to 70% of our body consists of water.
So why not are we affected by the moon, too?

Toward new moon --- elimination (detox)

When the moon is waning, toward new moon, elimination(detox)
power of your body  system gets stronger.
When the moon is new, detox is most effective.
Eating less or fasting, taking a salt foot bath or getting massage /
acupuncture is a very good idea.
Sweating is also good, so go walking or jogging, or even
sauna/steam room is a good place to go when the moon is the
other side of the earth.
Also good to kick your bad habits such as smoking, alcohol or
drugs, so you have less abstinence syndrome.
If you are on diet, you will see more effect since metabolism is
better working during this period.

Toward full moon --- absorption

When the moon is waxing toward full moon, the power of
absorption gets more powerful in your body.
On a full moon day, whatever you take in absorbs into your body
so easily, even toxins.
So again, this is another good day to eat less or fast.
Maybe not a good day to eat fish or meat, considering the risk of
heavy metal, hormones and antibiotics.
If you drink on a full moon day, you are more likely to have
hangover next day.
Vaccination is not recommended during this period.
Don’t be surprised if you gain weight toward full moon!

Good time to do fasting?

Digestive system(yin) is most active during the day(yang), while
kidneys and liver(yang) are in full motion during the night(yin).
So the best time to fast is in the evening so digestive system can
rest while liver and kidney can focus on processing, cleansing
blood and detoxification of  the body system .
If not fast, eat less early in the evening so you will feel refresh
and recharged next morning!

Eat Azuki Bean

Traditionally, Japanese people have cooked and eaten azuki
bean every 15 days, according to the moon calender.
The kidneys synchronize with the moon, and azuki bean, which is
macrobiotically considered a medicinal bean, nurtures the hard
working organs.
Also high in zinc, it is especially good for reproductive system.
Eat azuki bean on the new moon and full moon day : )

Live in harmony with the Moon (appreciating yin)

In our society, being active and productive(both yang) are overly
emphasized.
Work hard, play hard!! (yang, yang, yang!!)
And chronic stress and fatigue is widespread as a result.
It may be the time to bring a balance into our lives, by living in
harmony with the moon(yin).

Stop, and look up in the sky at night.
The moon will give you an answer……
